In 1958, John C. Koss revolutionized the way we listen to music by inventing the world's first SP/3 stereophone. Koss' mission was to replicate the excitement of a live musical performance, allowing listeners to experience sound like never before and feel closer to the music they love. This dedication to accuracy in sound reproduction is recognized by music lovers worldwide as the "Sound of Koss."
The Porta Pro Collection from The Original American Stereophone Company offers a range of retro-inspired, utility, and wireless headphone options that build upon Koss' pioneering legacy.
Before the introduction of the world's first SP/3 Stereophone in 1958, John C. Koss had already developed a portable stereo photograph player with side-wing speakers. Then, in 1958, he invented the groundbreaking SP/3 Stereophone, bringing personal stereo audio to the world.
In 1960, Koss released the SP/3X, the predecessor to the SP/3, featuring a lighter design, more comfortable headband, and superior sound quality. This was followed by the Pro/4AA in 1970, which set the standard for full-size professional headphones with true full-frequency performance.
On June 25, 1971, John C. Koss unveiled the new Koss World Headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1974, Koss released the HV/1A, the first dynamic headphone capable of reproducing all 10 audible octaves.
The acclaimed Porta Pro was released in 1984 and set performance and comfort standards worldwide for decades to come. In 1989, the JCK/300 Kordless Headphone system set the standard for infrared wireless headphones, and in 1990, Koss' revolutionary ESP/950 electrostatic headphones introduced breakthrough high-fidelity sound.
Carrying on the legacy of the Pro/4 line, the Pro4S Studio Headphone, released in 2014, was specifically designed for audio professionals. In 2017, Koss released the acclaimed KPH30i, featuring an ultra-lightweight design with remarkable high-fidelity sound.
In 2021, Koss introduced the Utility Series, offering three new headphones with Lightning, USB-C, and 3.5mm connectivity options. Most recently, in 2023, Koss continued its evolution of wireless headphones with the TWS250i True Wireless Earbuds.
The KPH30i packs big sound into a small, ultra-lightweight on-ear headphone with modern features. With dynamic 60-ohm drivers, it delivers remarkable high-fidelity audio spanning 15-25,000Hz, providing deep bass, crisp highs, and a superior midrange. The KPH30i's resilient, ultra-lightweight design ensures durability without compromising comfort, and the adjustable headband with a soft silicone strap provides a comfortable listening experience for hours of use.
The KPH30i is available in four colorways – White, Grey, Rhythm Beige, and Clear – allowing users to choose a look that fits their personal style. With an in-line microphone and remote, the KPH30i offers convenient control over music playback and phone calls.
